Key Stage 2 English.

Our aim is to foster a love of English. Pupils read a range of fiction and non- narrative texts as well as poetry. Pupils write in a variety of forms and styles. They experience a number of speaking and listening and drama opportunities. Pupils also study film techniques and use ICT. We address grammar, sentence and text structure as well as spelling and handwriting.

Pupils are set by ability in years 5 and 6.

At the end of Key Stage 2, pupils take SATs tests in Reading and Writing. We prepare the pupils with revision units designed to cover what is required of them in the test and offer Booster sessions for those pupils who we feel are either on the borderline or lacking in confidence.
