R.E. is taught from the Worcestershire Agreed Syllabus. Pupils explore beliefs and practices of five major worlds faiths. Christianity is to be the predominant religion through key stages 1-4. Visits from representatives of other faiths, visits to places of worship and handling artifacts enhance the pupils understanding of a diverse and multicultural society. Pupils are encouraged to develop an understanding, tolerence and respect for the beliefs of others. In years 5 and 6 pupils learn about and reflect on beliefs about God and worship in Christianity, Sikhism and Islam. |
