Important Information.

 'On behalf of the Governors of Parkside Middle School, I'd like to thank
staff, pupils and parents for their assistance and understanding during
the recent winter weather. Closing a school is not a decision that is
taken lightly and even more so when we already have children in school.
I was particularly pleased by the dedication shown by staff to ensure
that pupils left school in a secure and orderly manner when we had to
close early on the first day of term.

The decision not to open on Wednesday 6th January was the right one; as
was the re-opening of the school the following day although we do
acknowledge that for some parents and pupils the journeys to and from
school remained hazardous. Whilst attendance was lower than we'd
normally see, we were pleased that around three out of every four pupils
still managed to get in on Thursday.

I trust that you'll agree that together we've kept disruption to a
minimum and managed to keep Parkside Middle School up and running for
the benefit of its pupils. Thank you once again.'
